I had the pleasure of enjoying a staycation with my forever boyfriend, “aka hubby” during the opening weekend of Wellspring Manor and Spa, an intimate and spacious retreat located on a seven-acre wooded estate in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. I had been following Wellspring on Instagram for months awaiting the date of its opening so I could experience it as a proud resident of Prince George’s county.
The five-suite property is both elegant and tranquil and the beautifully furnished guestrooms are complete with en suite, spa-inspired bathrooms, sitting rooms and fireplaces.
The guestrooms are not the only spaces exquisitely decorated at Wellspring. During a tour of the manor and “The Barn,” which is an entertainment space equipped with an 85″ screen TV, pool table and bar, artwork from local and national artists are displayed and can be purchased right off the walls. You really are walking through an art gallery and the pieces are breathtaking.
The food didn’t disappoint at all during our stay. Breakfast is made-to-order daily featuring traditional, organic, vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options, as well as complimentary afternoon beverage and snack service. They also offer room service and personal chef services upon request.
If you follow me on IG (@shaunehayesmakeup) or Facebook, you know I enjoy nature, the outdoors and walking. I totally love that Wellspring has beautifully landscaped grounds and wooded trails, and is also only 1.5 miles from Watkins Regional Park where I walked to during our stay.
I didn’t get a chance to get pampered at The Spa Sanctuary. That’s right, Wellspring also has a spa on the grounds where body, facial and foot treatments are offered. This just gives me another reason to visit again.
Wellspring is not only a great place to stay, dine and be pampered, but if you’re looking for entertainment, they’ve got that covered too.
We enjoyed listening to the sounds of a live jazz guitarist in the Coltrane-themed lounge, and I’m excited to see they’ve added more entertainment events including a Winter Jazz & Wine Weekend Series, November 30 – December 2, 2018; Jazzy Christmas Celebration, December 14-16, 2018; New Year’s Eve Weekend Celebration, December 28 – 31, 2018 and a New Year’s Eve Soiree Celebration, December 31, 2018.
Hubby and I really had a great time getting away for some couple time. Sending love to my wonderful mother-in-love for watching our kiddos. The service and hospitality we received from the Wellspring staff and owners Kevin and Lisa were exceptional.
Wellspring Manor is a must-see, must-stay-at property so if you plan to visit or already live in the DC area, go experience this hidden gem for yourself. It’s only 18 miles from The White House and just minutes off the Capital Beltway. You won’t be disappointed and you will leave rested, relaxed, restored and rejuvenated.
